I haven't done timing tests on OSs besides IRIX.  However, from browsing
the forks and locks in DX, I see no reason why this patch should be
platform-specific.

So, if there's benefit to be had for other SMP platforms (or in general any
platforms where DXlock/unlock aren't no-ops), they too should get it when
nprocs == 1.
